is to assist principals and line managers with the steps involved in processing
a claim for workers' compensation.
The sooner
you can notify the Department of a workers' compensation claim, the sooner
the claim's managers can assist the employee and school.

The
First Medical Certificate may also be the final certificate. Further
medical examinations may occur after lodgement. There should be discussion
between the employee, line manager and medical practitioner. All Forms
are to be date stamped upon receipt at the school and forwarded to
the Employee Support Bureau within 3 days. |

Procedure

An
employee has 12 months from the date of the accident in which to lodge
a claim. |

If
required, rehabilitation assistance will be provided to assist the
employee to return to work when deemed fit. |
