ERGONOMIC AND WORKSITE ASSESSMENTS |

Worksite Assessments A worksite assessment can be undertaken at the workplace to identify possible suitable duties or make recommendations for workplace modifications and/or job redesign to accommodate an injured or ill employee's return to work, and promote a safe work environment. The worksite assessment report will be completed and outline the results of the assessment and be forwarded to the injured employee, principal or line manager, medical practitioner and other involved parties. Worksite assessments are conducted by the Injury Management Consultants employed by the Department, or by a Vocational Rehabilitation Provider following referral. Ergonomic Assessments of Computer Work Stations An ergonomic assessment involves the evaluation of a workstation and the physical environment, and its interaction with the employee. The Department is committed to ensuring this by offering ergonomic assessments to employees. Instruction is provided on injury prevention techniques, including suitable stretches and suggested rest breaks. A follow-up review may be conducted to ensure that recommendations are implemented.
