web-based resources useful for teaching and learning.
The Government Education Portal provides links to education and training information from
Australian Government, State and Territory sources.

The Australian Council for Educational Research offers an online assessment and support program
iAchieve at home. The program includes low cost multiple choice tests in English and Mathematics in an
online environment for Years 3-10.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) provides a variety of resources and links through
Learn Online, its education resources site.
The Playground is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's gateway to the Internet for children.
It provides an environment for children and grown-ups to explore.
Australian newspapers provide information on local issues, politics, events, celebrations,
people and business in Australia.
The Mathematical Association of Western Australia (MAWA) offers parents and students frequent
opportunities to participate in family maths activities and publishes a Maths for Living Series
that can be purchased.
The Gifted & Talented Children's Association of WA (GATCA) in Western Australia serves gifted and
talented children, their parents and their teachers. Membership allows access to a library of resources.
TeachersFirst is a collection of lessons and web resources arranged by subject area and grade level.
The NSW Association for Gifted and Talented Children is an open association for people who share
a common interest in gifted and talented children, with a particular focus on NSW and the ACT. They
have a self-help site that helps you find the right book for even the most gifted and difficult readers.
Tangent News is an e-mag for gifted teens edited by Rosie Williams who
also facilitates a forum for social and educational support for the families of highly gifted
students on a voluntary basis.

A wide range of University of New England's units are offered online.
RMIT University provides access to online programs and courses. The online learning material
includes courseware, tests and quizzes, discussion boards, and chat sessions.
An online distance education facility offering units or degrees taught and awarded by several
recognised universities and TAFE Colleges, which are identical to on-campus awards.
Unilearn (University of Queensland Distance Education Centre) offers bridging self-paced
distance education courses designed to assist students to gain entry to tertiary studies,
gain employment or to extend their knowledge.
The Australian Centre for Graduate Studies is a not-for-profit education trust, which provides
tuition and exam preparation to a number of education, training, and university programmes.
