The Sustainable Schools Initiative is a partnership of the Australian Government and the States and Territories that supports schools and their communities to embed sustainability within their culture. It supports whole-school approaches to education for sustainability that provide both immediate environmental, social, financial and educational benefits and encourage engagement with values, knowledge and skills in sustainability for the longer term. |

Key Resources |
| Sustainable Schools provides a focus on the management of resources and facilities including school grounds/biodiversity, energy, waste, water, products purchased and materials used in schools – this is via student-centred, action-based learning. It also works within and acknowledges the importance of interconnecting socio-economic issues, such as social justice, cultural and social diversity and participatory decision-making. |
